Pevro is the uncarved counterpart to Cavri. The cartouche back draws the same three turn silhouette: it widens at the shoulders, draws in at the waist and opens again lower down. The difference gathers at the crown; with the carved crest taken away the soft wave of the top rail closes uninterrupted.
The frame is filled with cane across its whole width, and the slim bead on the inner edge draws the boundary of the weave. The cartouche does not touch the seat: it stands on two uprights rising from the back and leaves an open gap beneath it.
The front legs are curved in the Louis idiom and finish on a small pad foot; the rear legs are plain and raked back. There are no stretchers between the legs, the rigidity coming from the seat rail, whose front edge pushes forward at the centre. The photographs show the bare, unfinished and unupholstered frame alongside the walnut stained version with a coral fabric upholstered seat.
Materials and fabric
Solid beech frame with a natural woven cane back inside a cartouche shaped frame, curved Louis front legs, raked rear legs and a seat rail curved at the front. In the upholstered version the seat is padded and covered in upholstery fabric.
Care
Wipe the wood with a soft, damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners. Clean the cane back with a dry brush or a vacuum brush on low power, and never wet it. Treat stains on the fabric seat promptly and locally with a lightly dampened cloth.
