The Elda back is a single steam bent rail formed into a ring. A second ring inside it stiffens the structure and gives the back depth. Left open in the middle, the chair does not block the table when seen from behind.
The seat is cut from solid timber in an oval and the edges are rounded. The legs are turned to a taper, and the rear legs carry on in one piece up to the back; no joint shows.
It suits a dining table, a kitchen and a café. The photographs show the unfinished natural frame alongside the walnut stained version, with the back and seat upholstered in lilac fabric.
Materials and fabric
Solid beech frame with a steam bent ring back and an oval solid seat. In the upholstered version the back and seat are padded and covered in upholstery fabric.
Care
Wipe wooden surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners. Treat stains on fabric promptly and locally with a lightly dampened cloth. Keep the wood out of prolonged direct sunlight and away from radiators, and check the joint screws once a year.
