Ovrix Floating Panel Armchair

Ovrix's back is a shaped panel with rounded corners, floating between two rear posts. The panel is screwed to the posts from the front; in the bare frame photograph the screw heads and the layered edge of the panel are left in view, and in the upholstered version both disappear under the fabric.

The arms leave the upper part of the rear post, run forward on a falling line and seat on top of the front leg. There is no infill between arm and seat; the chair's profile is built on the triangular void drawn by arm, front leg and seat rail.

The legs are square in section and taper towards the floor; where they meet the seat rail the lower edge of the rail rises in a concave sweep that eases the junction. In the bare frame photograph the seat is still a raw blank: its surface is matt and speckled, its edge fibrous and clearly different from the clean timber of the frame. The photographs show the bare, unfinished and unupholstered frame alongside the walnut stained version with a dark brown fabric upholstered back and seat.
