Roselind's back panel is cut as a flattened oval and sits reclined on two posts. The panel supports the shoulders only, and the wide gap beneath it is left open; that gap is what lightens the bar chair visually.
The seat frame is tied at the centre by cross braces. In the bare state that cross arrangement is on show; in the upholstered version it sits under the pad.
The legs are turned to a taper and splay in four directions. The footrests do not form a ring at a single level: one side is tied lower and the other higher, with short angled pieces set between them. The photographs show the bare frame alongside the walnut stained version with a grey blue fabric upholstered seat.
Materials and fabric
Solid beech frame with a flattened oval back panel, a cross braced seat frame, turned tapered legs and footrests at staggered heights. In the upholstered version the seat is padded and covered in upholstery fabric.
Care
Wipe wooden surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners. Treat stains on fabric promptly and locally with a lightly dampened cloth. Keep the wood out of prolonged direct sunlight and away from radiators, and check the joint screws once a year.
