Astrina's crest rail is a broad crescent that wraps the back. A channel is hollowed along its middle: in the upholstered version a fabric covered strip runs in that channel, while in the bare state the channel is left open and the section of the wood shows.
The two ends of the crest come forward but do not drop to arm height; they curl down and meet the rear leg. That junction runs on as a single curve, which is why the chair's profile reads unbroken.
The legs are round in section and splayed, with no stretchers between them. The photographs show the bare frame alongside the walnut stained version, with the back and seat upholstered in ice blue fabric.
Materials and fabric
Solid beech frame with a crescent crest rail hollowed with a channel and round tapered legs. In the upholstered version the back strip and seat are padded and covered in upholstery fabric.
Care
Wipe wooden surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners. Treat stains on fabric promptly and locally with a lightly dampened cloth. Keep the wood out of prolonged direct sunlight and away from radiators, and check the joint screws once a year.
