Aveloria's back is a round medallion filled with woven cane. Turned posts carry it on both sides, and two slimmer turned spindles rise between them, so the back meets the seat at four points.
The legs are turned to a taper and splay in four directions. The stretchers between them do not draw a plain H; they meet at the centre and spread out like a star. That arrangement stops the widely splayed legs from twisting.
The seat is cut in a soft form that widens towards the front, with rounded edges. The photographs show the bare frame alongside the walnut stained version with a mint green fabric upholstered seat.
Materials and fabric
Solid beech frame with a natural woven cane back panel stretched into a round frame, turned posts and spindles and stretchers arranged in a star. In the upholstered version the seat is padded and covered in upholstery fabric.
Care
Wipe the wood with a soft, damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners. Clean the cane back with a dry brush or a vacuum brush on low power, and never wet it. Treat stains on the fabric seat promptly and locally with a lightly dampened cloth.
