Tera fills Liva's medallion back with woven cane instead of fabric. Stretched inside the oval frame, the cane lets the back breathe and carries the classic form without weighing it down.
The arms curl forward to a stop and sit on curved supports. The front legs are turned in the Louis form, and round roundels sit at the corners of the seat frame where the legs begin.
The seat frame is left open so an upholstered pad drops into it, which makes reupholstering easy years later. The photographs show the bare frame alongside the walnut stained version upholstered in dusty rose fabric.
Materials and fabric
Solid beech frame with an oval medallion back frame and a natural woven cane back panel, scrolled arms and turned Louis front legs. In the upholstered version the seat is padded and covered in upholstery fabric.
Care
Wipe the wood with a soft, damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners. Clean the cane back with a dry brush or a vacuum brush on low power, and never wet it. Treat stains on the fabric seat promptly and locally with a lightly dampened cloth.
