Celestria sets Rosabelle's medallion back together with arms. A raised bead runs the whole way round the outer face of the oval frame, with a short reeded section just below the crown. A crown carved with a leaf motif sits at the top; the carving is confined to that crown, and the rest of the frame is moulding work.
The arms curl forward to a stop and sit on curved supports. The supports carry on in line with the front leg, so the arm does not read as something added to the frame afterwards.
The front legs are in the curved Louis form. The seat frame is left open so an upholstered pad drops into it. The photographs show the bare frame alongside the walnut stained version upholstered in dusty rose fabric.
Materials and fabric
Solid beech frame with an oval medallion back carrying a raised bead, a carved leaf motif crown, scrolled arms and curved Louis front legs. The back and seat are padded and covered in upholstery fabric.
Care
Wipe wooden surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners. Treat stains on fabric promptly and locally with a lightly dampened cloth. Keep the wood out of prolonged direct sunlight and away from radiators, and check the joint screws once a year.
