Elnor Round Back Armchair

In Turkish the octopus chair is the name given to the classic form where the back starts at shoulder height and turns forward on both sides to become the arms. Elnor completes that form with a round seat and curved cabriole legs, giving a model that works at a dining table and at a desk alike.

The turned supports under the arms are not merely decorative: they carry the load the arm places at the front down into the seat ring. Because the seat frame is a full circle, the chair looks the same from every side and it makes no difference at what angle it is drawn up to the table.
