Evaro Oval Ring Bar Chair

Evaro's back is an oval ring. It closes in a single curve and a second line runs around in its section; that double profile makes the ring read from a distance as a slim frame rather than a single rod. In the first photograph the inside of the ring is completely empty and the floor behind shows through it; the seat, however, is in place and is a shaped panel in the same wood as the frame.

Two curved posts carry the ring. They start close together where they leave the seat, open outward as they rise and meet the lower sides of the ring. The wide void between them keeps a row of these chairs along a counter from reading as a wall.

The legs are round in section, splay in four directions and taper towards the floor. There is a stretcher on each of the four faces and all four are straight rods parallel to the floor; there is no medial member, no diagonal brace and no separate footrest. They are not, however, in one plane: the front rod sits lowest, at natural footrest height, the two side rods a little above it and level with each other, and the back rod highest. The circuit therefore travels round all four faces but closes at three levels. The photographs show the natural wood version with an open oval back and a wooden seat alongside the walnut stained one with a grey fabric upholstered back and seat.
