Seen from the side, Felanora's legs draw a V that opens like a pair of compasses. The two arms part at the floor, meet at seat level and carry the armrest above.
It comes from the same family as Perlina and parts from it with a rail across the front: a single stretcher joining the two front legs a little above the floor keeps the opening of the V from flexing over time. There is no rail on the sides or at the back, so the frame stays open.
The back frame is set at a recline with a rebate cut into its inner edge; that rebate is empty in the bare state and closed with a panel in the upholstered version. The photographs show the bare frame alongside the walnut stained version upholstered in coffee brown fabric.
Materials and fabric
Solid beech compass legs in a V, flat rectangular section arms, a low rail across the front and a rebated back frame. In the upholstered version the back panel and seat are padded and covered in upholstery fabric.
Care
Wipe wooden surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners. Treat stains on fabric promptly and locally with a lightly dampened cloth. Keep the wood out of prolonged direct sunlight and away from radiators, and check the joint screws once a year.
