Heliora's back frame is set at a recline with its corners rounded on a generous radius. A two step rebate is cut into the inner edge; the upholstered panel drops into it and the stepped profile of the wood stays visible around it.
The rear legs run in one piece from the floor up to the frame and break back slightly above the seat. Side stretchers and a rear rail lock the frame, and the front face is left open.
The seat is cut with a shallow dish and rounded edges. The photographs show the bare frame alongside the walnut stained version, with the back panel and seat upholstered in deep teal fabric.
Materials and fabric
Solid beech frame with a rectangular back frame cut with a two step rebate, rear legs running in one piece and side and rear stretchers. In the upholstered version the back panel and seat are padded and covered in upholstery fabric.
Care
Wipe wooden surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners. Treat stains on fabric promptly and locally with a lightly dampened cloth. Keep the wood out of prolonged direct sunlight and away from radiators, and check the joint screws once a year.
