Nisa's back frame is set at a recline and looks suspended above the seat. A stepped rebate is cut into the inner edge of the frame; the upholstered panel drops into it and the slim profile of the wood stays visible all around.
The rear leg on one side carries on in one piece up to the back, while the support opposite it is a slim straight post. That asymmetry lightens the chair in profile, and the slight break along the top edge of the frame gives a livelier silhouette than a plain rectangle would.
The legs are round in section and tapered, with no stretchers between them; the frame is locked by the seat rails alone. The photographs show the bare frame alongside the walnut stained version, with the back panel and seat upholstered in anthracite fabric.
Materials and fabric
Solid beech frame and round tapered legs with a rectangular back frame cut with a stepped rebate. In the upholstered version the back panel and seat are padded and covered in upholstery fabric.
Care
Wipe wooden surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners. Treat stains on fabric promptly and locally with a lightly dampened cloth. Keep the wood out of prolonged direct sunlight and away from radiators, and check the joint screws once a year.
