Nira's back stands clear of the seat: a rectangular frame carried on a single post rising from the middle. The gap between lightens the chair visually and lets air move behind the back.
The inside of the frame can be upholstered or left open. The legs are turned to a taper and the stretcher between the front legs is left in view; on a plain model, showing a structural detail is what sets the character.
It suits a dining table, a kitchen and a desk. The photographs show the unfinished natural frame alongside the walnut stained version, with the back and seat upholstered in dusty rose fabric.
Materials and fabric
Solid beech frame and turned tapered legs with a rectangular back frame. In the upholstered version the back panel and seat are padded and covered in upholstery fabric.
Care
Wipe wooden surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners. Treat stains on fabric promptly and locally with a lightly dampened cloth. Keep the wood out of prolonged direct sunlight and away from radiators, and check the joint screws once a year.
