Larmivo Bar Chair

Larmivo's back is a rectangular frame with rounded corners. A stepped rebate is cut along the frame's inner edge: in the upholstered version the panel drops into that rebate, while on the bare frame the same rebate becomes a shadow line that makes the frame read as slimmer.

The rear legs carry the frame. They are not cut off at the seat but continue upward in the same section and form the two sides of the frame. The back therefore reads as a continuation of the body rather than a part added to the seat.

The legs are square in section, taper slightly towards the floor and splay out far enough to carry the base well beyond the seat. The footrest stretchers do not sit in one plane: a low rail ties the two front legs, the rail arriving from the side meets that same leg noticeably higher, and a further rail runs front to back further inboard. Nothing closes into a ring around all four faces, and the rigidity bar height demands comes from that staggering rather than from thicker timber.
