Narselo Chair

Narselo's back is a closed loop. The rear legs are not cut off at the seat but continue upward in the same section and, at the top, turn through a generous radius to meet each other. There is no central post or splat; the loop is both frame and structure.

A stepped rebate runs along the inner edge of the loop. In the upholstered version the panel sits in that rebate and the edge of the fabric disappears under the wood; on the bare frame the same rebate reads as a fine shadow line along the profile.

The front legs are round and conical in section while the rear legs are flatter and raked. The lower edge of the seat apron is not cut straight but sweeps downward in a curve. There are no stretchers between the legs, the rigidity coming from the seat rails instead, which is why the chair stands light and clear of the ground. The photographs show the bare, unfinished and unupholstered frame alongside the walnut stained version upholstered in pale blue fabric.
