Lora takes its name from the way the spindles are set: they open upward from the seat like a fan and enter the bent hoop. Seen from the side the arrangement recalls a rib cage, and it gives the back both flex and character.
The hoop begins behind you, wraps forward on both sides and ends as the arm. Reading as a single piece, that line makes the chair comfortable at the head of a dining table.
The photographs show the bare frame alongside the walnut stained version upholstered in green fabric. In the upholstered version a padded back panel sits in front of the spindles.
Materials and fabric
Solid beech frame with a bent wrapping hoop and turned spindles set in a fan. In the upholstered version the back panel and seat are padded and covered in upholstery fabric.
Care
Wipe wooden surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners. Treat stains on fabric promptly and locally with a lightly dampened cloth. Keep the wood out of prolonged direct sunlight and away from radiators, and check the joint screws once a year.
