Meliora's arms start at the front leg, run backwards and join the rear post; seen from the side the two together draw a U on its side. The end of the arm is rounded and widens slightly outwards.
A diagonal brace is set between the arm and the seat frame. It relieves the point that is worked hardest, where the arm meets the front leg, and at the same time becomes the model's visual signature.
The back panel is curved and is set between the two posts. The photographs show the bare frame alongside the walnut stained version, with the back panel and seat upholstered in tobacco fabric.
Materials and fabric
Solid beech frame with a U shaped arm frame, diagonal braces and a curved back panel. In the upholstered version the back panel and seat are padded and covered in upholstery fabric.
Care
Wipe wooden surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners. Treat stains on fabric promptly and locally with a lightly dampened cloth. Keep the wood out of prolonged direct sunlight and away from radiators, and check the joint screws once a year.
