Mira's back is a single curved shell; it wraps forward on both sides and stops at arm height. The edge of the shell is piped all the way round, with the stitching left in view.
The rosette the model is named for is the wooden sphere where the back meets the rear leg. It is not only ornament: it closes the angle at which the two pieces meet and hides the joint.
Seen from the side the legs draw an A, and the two front legs are tied by a curved stretcher. The photographs show the bare frame alongside the walnut stained version upholstered in taupe fabric.
Materials and fabric
Solid beech frame with A shaped legs, a curved back shell and a wooden sphere rosette. The back and seat are padded, covered in upholstery fabric and piped at the edges.
Care
Wipe wooden surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners. Treat stains on fabric promptly and locally with a lightly dampened cloth. Keep the wood out of prolonged direct sunlight and away from radiators, and check the joint screws once a year.
