Norza's clearest detail is the brass band that wraps the back and ties into the arms on both sides. The band is not only decoration: it carries the connection between arm and back and shares the load of the wooden joint.
The arms are cylindrical in section and drop slightly toward the front, while the legs taper downward. The contrast between the soft lines of the wood and the hard shine of the brass is what sets the model apart from a classic dining chair.
It suits a dining table, a dressing table and a hotel room. The photographs show the unfinished natural frame alongside the walnut stained version upholstered in taupe fabric.
Materials and fabric
Solid beech frame and arms, a moulded plywood back and a brass band. In the upholstered version the back and seat are padded and covered in upholstery fabric.
Care
Wipe wooden surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners. Treat stains on fabric promptly and locally with a lightly dampened cloth. Keep the wood out of prolonged direct sunlight and away from radiators, and check the joint screws once a year.
