Orlena sets Bellamira's balloon back together with a carved crown. A crown carved with a scroll and leaf motif sits at the top of the frame; the carving is confined to that crown, and the rest of the frame is moulding work.
The back frame widens at shoulder height, narrows at the waist and joins the seat through the horizontal rail beneath it. The opening between carries the classic form without weighing it down.
The front legs are in the curved Louis form and the rear legs splay outward; side stretchers lock the frame. The photographs show the bare frame alongside the walnut stained version upholstered in anthracite fabric.
Materials and fabric
Solid beech frame with a moulded balloon shaped back frame, a crown carved with a leaf and scroll motif, curved Louis front legs and side stretchers. The back and seat are padded and covered in upholstery fabric.
Care
Wipe wooden surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners. Treat stains on fabric promptly and locally with a lightly dampened cloth. Keep the wood out of prolonged direct sunlight and away from radiators, and check the joint screws once a year.
