Renaria Bar Chair

Renaria's back is low and double curved: the outer hoop wraps the back while the lower inner curve runs parallel to it, and the two curl forward together on one side to finish.

The back supports the waist and leaves the shoulders open. In front of a counter people do not sit for long but get up and sit down often, which is why this low arrangement is preferred: the chair stays light and tucks easily under the counter.

A rebate is cut around the edge of the seat, and in the upholstered version the pad sits inside it. The legs are turned to a taper, and stretchers tied on all four faces close into a ring. There is no separate raised footrest hoop; the foot rests on that ring. The photographs show the unfinished natural frame alongside the walnut stained version with a brick red fabric upholstered seat.
