Selva uses the same crossed leg system as Briza: the legs cross in a V seen from the side and lock together with the seat rail. Because there are no arms, the chair tucks fully under the table, which matters in small kitchens and on dining tables in daily use.
The back is a rectangular frame that can be upholstered or left open. Starting a little above the seat, it leaves a gap at the small of the back and encourages an upright posture.
It can share a table with Briza: the armed Briza at the ends, the armless Selva along the sides. The photographs show the unfinished natural frame alongside the walnut stained version upholstered in brick red fabric.
Materials and fabric
Solid beech crossed legs and a rectangular back frame. In the upholstered version the back panel and seat are padded and covered in upholstery fabric.
Care
Wipe wooden surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners. Treat stains on fabric promptly and locally with a lightly dampened cloth. Keep the wood out of prolonged direct sunlight and away from radiators, and check the joint screws once a year.
