The Şölen crest rail draws a wave that widens in the middle and narrows toward the ends. The shape falls between the shoulder blades and supports the back with a single rail spread over a broad surface.
The seat is carved from solid timber into a saddle: the edges lift slightly at the front and dish toward the back. Slim tapered legs keep the chair visually light, while the thickness of the seat keeps it sturdy.
It suits a dining table, a kitchen and a desk. The photographs show the unfinished natural frame alongside the walnut stained version, with the crest and seat upholstered in brick red fabric.
Materials and fabric
Solid beech frame with a wave shaped carved crest rail and a carved solid saddle seat. In the upholstered version the crest and seat are padded and covered in upholstery fabric.
Care
Wipe wooden surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners. Treat stains on fabric promptly and locally with a lightly dampened cloth. Keep the wood out of prolonged direct sunlight and away from radiators, and check the joint screws once a year.
