Vera belongs to the same crossed leg family as Briza and Selva. The legs cross in a V seen from the side and lock together with the seat rail; the rail and its wedge are left visible rather than hidden.
The back panel is woven cane. Because cane lets the back breathe, it stays cooler than an upholstered back over a long meal, and it keeps the panel light enough for the chair to be moved easily.
With no arms, the chair tucks fully under the table. The photographs show the bare frame alongside the walnut stained version upholstered in aubergine fabric; in the upholstered version a padded back panel sits in front of the cane.
Materials and fabric
Solid beech crossed legs and frame with a natural woven cane back panel. In the upholstered version the back panel and seat are padded and covered in upholstery fabric.
Care
Wipe the wood with a soft, damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners. Clean the cane back with a dry brush or a vacuum brush on low power, and never wet it. Treat stains on the fabric seat promptly and locally with a lightly dampened cloth.
