Zerva repeats the Lorex hooped back at counter height. The back keeps the same proportions, the legs grow longer, and a footrest ties them on all four sides. Where a room mixes bar and dining heights, the two models complete each other visually.
The seat is carved into a saddle shape, which makes it easier to sit on for longer than a backless stool. Having somewhere for the lower back to rest noticeably changes how long you can stay at a kitchen island.
The photographs show the unfinished natural frame alongside the walnut stained version with a green fabric upholstered seat.
Materials and fabric
Solid beech frame, turned spindles in a hooped back, a carved saddle seat and footrests on all four sides. In the upholstered version the seat is padded and covered in upholstery fabric.
Care
Wipe wooden surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners. Treat stains on fabric promptly and locally with a lightly dampened cloth. Keep the wood out of prolonged direct sunlight and away from radiators, and check the joint screws once a year.
